Sand Dunes!

Have any of you ever been to the St. Anthony Sand Dunes in the winter? It is the funnest thing. I was having a pretty "blah" day. When we started the day it looked like we would just sit around the house. A good friend, reached out to us and asked if we wanted to go see the Civil Defense caves. We got Kate to come along with us. We drive out and pass the Sand Dunes. When we got to the start of the trail to the caves it said they were closed. We were pretty bummed but we decided to go sledding. We were not prepared in the least, I mean... It was 20 degrees out and we were losing daylight. Kate had some homework to do so we dropped her off, rented some sleds, bought some gloves and hats, and we were on our way back to the Sand Dunes. I had no idea they were so close to where we are! There were so many different hills to choose from and you never have to worry about running into a tree! We got going pretty fast down some hills to the point where you would start going up another one. After a lot of fun we felt pretty frozen. But there was one hill we wanted to end on. It was a very steep one where someone had built a ramp at the end. I didn't dare, but after watching a dad encourage his son to go off Monson and our friend were up to it. Monson went first. He landed decently well. When our friend went off... He FLEW. His landing was rough but luckily the worst of it was the wind got knocked out of him. We laughed about it the whole way home. The silly blog website won't let me post the video of it:(

Monson and I both couldn't get over how much fun we had. We would not have if we weren't spontaneous and just DID something. We made a memory we'll never forget.

I'll put some pictures and stuff below.

At the Dunes

Since it won't let me post the video of our friend's crash... I'll show you this... You can use your imagination for how the rest of it went, haha!

Driving Home. The Sunset was really pretty and we could see the Grand Tetons! Look how happy we are! We had so much fun:D

These Pictures are just from our other adventures with our friends:)

We did an escape room the other night. It was a good time! Let's just say... Don't let Kate enter the digital code ;)

After the Escape room we got soda, pizza, and watched some movies. I watched the Truman show for the first time ever... And it will be my last, I don't know why but it just stressed me out! Haha!

Once our friends came back after the break we went out for dinner. Kate's old roommate is going on a mission, so she is back home. We miss having her around too. They're a fun group:)

Ice Castles

So this happened about a week ago, I just haven't got a round to writing about it yet. I have always wanted to go to Ice Castles. I heard about the ones in Utah but never went. The ones here in Idaho did not disappoint! I really want to know how in the world they build these things because honestly... It's INCREDIBLE! There was so much detail to everything there. There were tons of different color lit tunnels to walk through and explore. There was even a staircase that went up to a bridge and a few towers. There was also a fire juggler and sleigh rides. In all it was just a really good time! And it was cool because inside of the ice caves it wasn't too cold. That helped make it more enjoyable for sure. Monson and I had a good time dancing together to the music they were playing. He sure makes me happy. Life is good at the Mckay house!

The Start of Our Blog

The other night as I was studying the scriptures, I read a verse of scripture that really struck me. 1 Nephi 18:9. It is the story of Lehi's family on the boat to the promised land. It talked about how Laman, Lemuel, and others started to make themselves merry and "speak with much rudeness".  I had never really thought much about this scripture other than it just being another part to the story. But in the moment I read it last night I had the distinct thought that I needed to delete my Instagram and Facebook account and start a family blog. I have noticed recently that I have spent so much time on these social media platforms just scrolling looking for funny videos. A lot of these videos have "much rudeness" in them... To put it lightly. I thought of how those things drive away the Spirit. For Lehi's family it caused a storm that drove them back upon the waters. I knew I needed to do it but part of me was sad because I really love keeping up with people. Ho...
