Universal Studios 2021

We had such a fun time on this trip. It was the first trip we have ever made for ourselves. It was a lot of fun hunting for deals and figuring out the schedule. It was pretty spontaneous, my mom had gone to the park in January and after that we decided we were just going to do it! I know for me it was a good "reset button" for me. After the trip was over I was a lot more okay with going to work and living life normally again. I think we were both in need of a little bit of fun. We sure found it too! We took the trip at our own pace and just did the things we wanted to. I loved taking the time to walk slow and take in the scenery. It helped make the trip more enjoyable to not rush to and fro. It was also nice to be in the warm sun in Florida and escape the snow!

My favorite part was all the yummy food we ate! We ate genuine British food at the Leaky Cauldron, I really liked the cheese board we got there. I also LOVED the butter beer and pumpkin juice. The cream on the butter beer is to DIE for. We were sure to get plenty of it! Monson's favorite part was the food too, especially the Leaky Cauldron. He loved how the building looked small on the outside, but once you go in it is huge!

The new Hagrid ride is also one of the most amazing experiences. I won't spoil anything by writing about it here, but it had both of us laughing the entire time. It really brought the magic of Harry Potter to life in every aspect. That's all I will say about that!

We also bought a wand at Olivanders' that interacts with the park. It was fun to try the spells. Sometimes they wouldn't work, and we would try and try and try and nothing. Then some little kid would walk up and do it on the first try. Haha!

The last day we felt like we had done everything so we went to Disney Springs and walked around the shops there. It was nice to have a Disney touch on things too.

I made a little video capturing our trip. I will put the link below if you want to watch it!

Ice Castles

So this happened about a week ago, I just haven't got a round to writing about it yet. I have always wanted to go to Ice Castles. I heard about the ones in Utah but never went. The ones here in Idaho did not disappoint! I really want to know how in the world they build these things because honestly... It's INCREDIBLE! There was so much detail to everything there. There were tons of different color lit tunnels to walk through and explore. There was even a staircase that went up to a bridge and a few towers. There was also a fire juggler and sleigh rides. In all it was just a really good time! And it was cool because inside of the ice caves it wasn't too cold. That helped make it more enjoyable for sure. Monson and I had a good time dancing together to the music they were playing. He sure makes me happy. Life is good at the Mckay house!

The Start of Our Blog

The other night as I was studying the scriptures, I read a verse of scripture that really struck me. 1 Nephi 18:9. It is the story of Lehi's family on the boat to the promised land. It talked about how Laman, Lemuel, and others started to make themselves merry and "speak with much rudeness".  I had never really thought much about this scripture other than it just being another part to the story. But in the moment I read it last night I had the distinct thought that I needed to delete my Instagram and Facebook account and start a family blog. I have noticed recently that I have spent so much time on these social media platforms just scrolling looking for funny videos. A lot of these videos have "much rudeness" in them... To put it lightly. I thought of how those things drive away the Spirit. For Lehi's family it caused a storm that drove them back upon the waters. I knew I needed to do it but part of me was sad because I really love keeping up with people. Ho...
