We moved!

It has been a while since I posted anything on my blog. I feel like not much has happened, but at the same time a lot has. We went to the Grand Tetons with some friends. It was still snowy and cold so we spent most of the time walking around Jackson Hole. I liked the pictures we took there, haha. I also cut my hair again. It's a lot shorter than I thought it would be... but it will grow... Fast, I hope!😬 I have decided to go back to school to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. It came as a surprise because I was determined that I didn't like college anymore and I wanted to be done with it. But at work one day, I just felt very strongly that it was what I was supposed to do. So this summer will be a little crazy trying to cram in some prerequisites, but it will also be fun I think!  We also have officially moved back to Spanish Fork Utah. It has been so nice to be home and close to family again. We have enjoyed going on walks, playing frisbee, and setting up our new home. ...

Universal Studios 2021

We had such a fun time on this trip. It was the first trip we have ever made for ourselves. It was a lot of fun hunting for deals and figuring out the schedule. It was pretty spontaneous, my mom had gone to the park in January and after that we decided we were just going to do it! I know for me it was a good "reset button" for me. After the trip was over I was a lot more okay with going to work and living life normally again. I think we were both in need of a little bit of fun. We sure found it too! We took the trip at our own pace and just did the things we wanted to. I loved taking the time to walk slow and take in the scenery. It helped make the trip more enjoyable to not rush to and fro. It was also nice to be in the warm sun in Florida and escape the snow! My favorite part was all the yummy food we ate! We ate genuine British food at the Leaky Cauldron, I really liked the cheese board we got there. I also LOVED the butter beer and pumpkin juice. The cream on the butter ...

Ice Castles

So this happened about a week ago, I just haven't got a round to writing about it yet. I have always wanted to go to Ice Castles. I heard about the ones in Utah but never went. The ones here in Idaho did not disappoint! I really want to know how in the world they build these things because honestly... It's INCREDIBLE! There was so much detail to everything there. There were tons of different color lit tunnels to walk through and explore. There was even a staircase that went up to a bridge and a few towers. There was also a fire juggler and sleigh rides. In all it was just a really good time! And it was cool because inside of the ice caves it wasn't too cold. That helped make it more enjoyable for sure. Monson and I had a good time dancing together to the music they were playing. He sure makes me happy. Life is good at the Mckay house!

Sand Dunes!

Have any of you ever been to the St. Anthony Sand Dunes in the winter? It is the funnest thing. I was having a pretty "blah" day. When we started the day it looked like we would just sit around the house. A good friend, reached out to us and asked if we wanted to go see the Civil Defense caves. We got Kate to come along with us. We drive out and pass the Sand Dunes. When we got to the start of the trail to the caves it said they were closed. We were pretty bummed but we decided to go sledding. We were not prepared in the least, I mean... It was 20 degrees out and we were losing daylight. Kate had some homework to do so we dropped her off, rented some sleds, bought some gloves and hats, and we were on our way back to the Sand Dunes. I had no idea they were so close to where we are! There were so many different hills to choose from and you never have to worry about running into a tree! We got going pretty fast down some hills to the point where you would start going up another ...

Our First Christmas

Monson and I both agree that this Christmas was one of our favorites. We started off the season with Coronavirus. That kept us inside the entire first two weeks of December. That wasn't our favorite, haha. Luckily we had already got our tree and decorations by then. We were not too extremely affected by the sickness and we are so grateful. So most of the season was spent inside watching Christmas movies and making cookies. We had to have a friend come over and taste test the frosting for us because we couldn't taste it, Haha! (Don't worry, we weren't contagious anymore). We were able to receive so much service and love from others during this time. Our friends Kate Hulon and Olivia Murphy would go pick up groceries for us. People offered to make us dinner. My coworkers were so kind and came and did Socially Distanced Christmas caroling. It made us feel so loved! As for the Holiday itself we went down to Utah. On our drive we listened to a book series that we love! If yo...

The Start of Our Blog

The other night as I was studying the scriptures, I read a verse of scripture that really struck me. 1 Nephi 18:9. It is the story of Lehi's family on the boat to the promised land. It talked about how Laman, Lemuel, and others started to make themselves merry and "speak with much rudeness".  I had never really thought much about this scripture other than it just being another part to the story. But in the moment I read it last night I had the distinct thought that I needed to delete my Instagram and Facebook account and start a family blog. I have noticed recently that I have spent so much time on these social media platforms just scrolling looking for funny videos. A lot of these videos have "much rudeness" in them... To put it lightly. I thought of how those things drive away the Spirit. For Lehi's family it caused a storm that drove them back upon the waters. I knew I needed to do it but part of me was sad because I really love keeping up with people. Ho...
